Research:
The use of anti-cholinergic medications as a dementia risk factor.
Use of botulinum toxin in the therapy of low back pain and headache.
Cognitive changes associated with phantom limb pain.
Molecular mechanisms of synaptic and axonal degeneration.

Career Highlights:
A graduate of Harvard College in biochemistry in 1987, Dr. Tsao received a M. Phil. from the University of Cambridge in 1989 and a D. Phil. from the University of Oxford in 1995, and completed a research fellowship in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University in 1996. He received his MD degree from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology in 1997, and followed that with a neurology residency at the University of California-San Francisco, 2001, and a clinical fellowship in geriatric behavioral neurology at the University of Florida in 2004.
