8.1.3.8 Geodesics

Geodesics are curves of zero geodesic curvature on a surface and provide candidates for arcs of minimum length between two points on a surface [412,235,136]. We will study the formulation of the governing equations of geodesics on a parametric surface as well as on an implicit surface and their solution methodology in Chap. 10.
