Cultura is a Web-based, intercultural project situated in a language class, that connects American students with other students in different countries. Sharing a common Website and a common calendar, students gradually construct together, through a computer-mediated exchange, a deeper understanding of each other’s cultural attitudes, beliefs and values.

Cultura was designed at MIT and is currently hosted in the HyperStudio. The project was first funded by the Consortium for Language Teaching and Learning, then by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
