Welcome to I3! You have chosen to attend MIT, and when you get here you'll have to make another big decision: where to live. On this CD, we have attempted to distill some of the requisite knowledge to assist you in making the right decision. Of course, nothing can replace the experience of actually visiting a living group, talking to its residents, and getting to know the place firsthand. When you browse through the CD and the First-Year Guide to Residences (the book that came with this CD), you'll be presented with a few different forms of information. Take some time to read what each living group has to say about itself and take some time to view each living group's video. You need to have Quicktime 5.0 installed; you can download it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. Send us questions! If your questions are about a particular living group, utilize the contact they have listed in the First-Year Guide to Residences. If your question is more general, you can contact the Dormitory Council (a.k.a. DormCon, the Student Government that represents all dorm residents). Before you continue on to the living groups, you should take a look at these introductions from the DormCon President, Matt Cain, and the Dormcon R/O Chair, Jeff Roberts. For your perusing pleasure, here are a few different ways to get at each living group: Check out the I3 website periodically for important updates and additional info about residential selection. Don't forget to enter the Summer Housing Lottery at http://web.mit.edu/housinglottery! Good luck and welcome to MIT! |
