The registration to the 7th IACHEC meeting is now open.
Meeting venue
The 7th IACHEC meeting will take place from March 26 (Monday) to March 29
2012 (Thursday) at the
Embassy Suites Napa Valley
Hotel in Napa, California.
The
County of Napa
hosts one of the top American Viticulture Areas in all of the United States, with a history dating back to the early nineteenth century.
The hotel is located 60 miles from the San Francisco International Airport,
which offer a wide range of international connections.
The Metropolitan Oakland International and the
Sacramento International Airport represent alternative landing opportunities.
Participants are recommended to arrive on Sunday, March 25. The meeting is expected to close on Thursday morning.
How to register
Full board & lodging accommodation will be available at the
Embassy Suites Napa Valley during the
days of the meeting.
In order to register, you have to follow the following steps:
- Go to the registration page. You will be asked to pay $195 for the registration fee (which covers meeting room charges and breaks), as well as $110 for for the daily lunches and one dinner, all at the hotel. The registration fee increases to a total of $355 after the 2nd of March. Be sure to enter the name of your institution for the name badge and the title of your suggested talk (if any) on the registration page
- Upon completing registration, you will be presented with a link to the hotel web site to reserve your room, which may also be accessed directly. When booking the room, be sure to enter IAC for the Group code to obtain our negotiated rate of $129/night (breakfast and a before-dinner wine social included, taxes extra). Please be sure to make your hotel reservation before the 24th of February; afterward, the room block hold will be released -- rooms may still be available but are not guaranteed.
Meeting Program
Plenary sessions will be interleaved with meetings of the
IACHEC Working Groups (WGs).
The meeting will follow the usual 3.5 days structure:
- 1st day, morning: review of the calibration status of individual missions
- 1st day, afternoon: review of WG activities during the past 12 months
- 2nd day, morning: WGs meet
- 2nd day, afternoon: special splinter sessions #1: cross-calibration below/above 10 keV
- 3rd day, morning: WGs meet
- 3rd day, afternoon: special session #2: the future of IACHEC activities
- 4th day, morning: review of WG discussion and conclusions
- 6 December 2011: first announcement
- 13 December 2011: pre-registration deadline
- 24 February 2012: hotel reservation deadline
- 2 March 2012: registration deadline with dscounted fee
- 10 March 2012: second announcement and final program
- 25 March 2012: arrival of the participants
- 26 March 2012: the 7th IACHEC meeting starts!
