Notes on the 8th IACHEC Working Groups teleconference

1. Key speakers
---------------

* V.Kashyap has accepted to join the meeting, and give a talk at the
  session on statistics, provided that funding is available at CXC.
* HM will ask E.Feigelson for the same session
* M.Weisskopf has suggested D.Horns (Hamburg University) as an expert on
  modelling the X-ray emission of the Crab (back-up: Zhang). LN will follow-up
* It is agreed to invite M.Tavani (Rome) to give an observational review
  on recent high-energy results on the Crab. LN will follow-up
* PP has sent an e-mail to J.Vink to join the meeting and give a talk on SNR
  - answer awaited (back-up D.Patnaude)
* still no news from V.Burwitz on T.Rauch (MG will follow-up)

 All contacts need to be finalised by **January 10**, for MG to be able to
include them in the web page before the announcement is sent around through the
IACHEC mailing list.


2. Additional financial support
-------------------------------

 A possible additional financial support by IASF of 1500 Euros may be available
to support the accommodation costs of two participants. It is agreed to use
this money for:

- a colleague from the Astrosat mission (MG to follow-up)
- a key speaker, who may have financial problems to attend (we already have a
  candidate: V.Kashap)
- if no key speaker will require financial support, we will use the second
  grant to invite a member of the HXMT calibration/science team (MG to
  follow-up)

 Final confirmation on the availability of this additional funding should
arrive in February 2011.


Next meeting
------------

 It will be held in February, to start reviewing the status of the WG
activities.
