Notes of the 12th teleconference of the IACHEC Working Group Chairs

8th IACHEC meeting logistics
----------------------------

 The deposit for the meeting has been paid. The X-ray Department of the
University of Leicester has contributed with a donation of 500 UKP. The IACHEC
will send a formal letter of appreciation after the meeting is held.

 Only 9 people have pre-registered so far - including the 2 local organisers.
However, with still 10 days to go before the pre-registration deadline, this is
not considered critical. A reminder will be sent through the IACHEC mailing
list on Tuesday, 7/1/2013. It will contain also an explanation on why we
need the pre-registration (to be able to compile as soon as possible the
meeting programme).

 Next week the system for the formal registration (including payment) will
be set-up. Another e-mail with the registration details will be sent to
the IACHEC mailing list once it is ready.


Contact with potential participants
-----------------------------------

 Contacts have been made with colleagues of the following projects: Astrosat
(no answer yet. SS to follow-up to identify colleagues at LUX, who may attend
the meeting on behalf of the project), HXMT (no registration yet); NIST
(letter of invitation to S.Cramer still to be sent by SS); NuSTAR
(the Project Scientist promised to send a delegation to the meeting; LN to
talk with the NuSTAR colleagues during the forthcoming AAS to remind their
commitment); Swift (Dave Barrows is likely to come), as well as to galaxy
clusters research groups that have recently published X-ray cross-calibration
results (1 registration from HIFLUGCS). The following contacts have still to be
finalised:

HM: with the organisers of the cross-calibration conference he attended last
    year
LN: with colleagues from the INTEGRAL/SPI and INTEGRAL/ISGRI teams
MG: with the GAIA Project Scientist

 YT has communicated that two colleagues from Japan (at least) are expected
to attend the meeting. It is unclear if there will be also colleagues from the
HXD calibration team among them. MG will follow-up.


Next meeting
------------

 MG will set-up a Doodle cycle for the next two meetings of the IACHEC WG
Chairs:

- as soon as possible after the pre-registration deadline, to discuss the
  meeting program

- in the second half of February, to make the usual review of the Working
  Group activities over the past year, and the objectives for the next meeting
