Notes of the 24th teleconference of the IACHEC Working Group Chairs Skype 18 December 2015 Participants: D.Bhattacharya (DB), C.Grant (CG), M.Guainazzi (MG), V.Kashyap (VP), E.Miller (EM), H.Marshall (HM), L.Natalucci (LN), P.Plucinsky (PP) Apologies: J.Nevalainen (JN) 1. 11th IACHEC meeting logistics -------------------------------- At the day of the meeting, 58 registrations have been received, 25 of them from abroad. The procedure to obtain the clearance letters from the Indian authority has started, also for the 3 colleagues who registered late. These letters will be posted on the meeting web page once ready, most likely in January, for the participants to be able to request their visa procedure. As the relevant documents have been shipped to the Ministry, any visa issues for late-comers will be dealt with on a case-by-case and best-effort basis. The meeting web pages will be changed to reflect this. There are still rooms available at the IUCAA Campus. At the beginning of January the LOC will verify the requested accommodations with the participants, to make sure that everybody gets the accommodation of her/his liking. A Welcome Dinner is scheduled for Sunday afternoon, and a banquet on a still- to-be-defined evening. They will be included in the program once the dates are defined. Otherwise, nothing to report on the meeting organization. 2. Scientific program --------------------- The draft program is approved, with the following modifications: - a talk on nomenclature to by V.Kashyap/H.Marshall will be included at the beginning of Session VI - the talk on ACIS background will be moved to the CCD WG - MG will verify if T.Kallman/R.Smith are still ready to give a talk on new development in handling high-resolution spectra, and propose convenient slots - the following requirements must be fulfilled by the schedule of the WGs (each slot is 2 hours) . Galaxy Clusters: 2 slots . Thermal SNRs: Monday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon . Contamination: 1 slot, not conflicting with Thermal SNRs . CCD: 1 slot, not conflicting with Contamination . Calibration Uncertainties: 1 slot, afternoon, not conflicting with High Resolution . Non-Thermal SNR: 1 slot . Coordinated observations: 1 slot . Heritage: 1 slot . INS/WD: 1 slot DB will follow up with the Astrosat colleagues, to make sure that all the foreseen talks in the Astrosat session are given a speaker. MG will circulate a new version reflecting these changes. The goal is to publish a final version of the program by January 15. 3. Next teleconference ---------------------- The next teleconference - the last before the 11th meeting - will be held between the second half of January and the first half of February, with the usual goal to share status of objectives of the WG activities.
