Breakdancing: Learn How to Better "Serve" Your Friends and Enemies.

This class will teach the basics of breakdancing and popping. Breakin', an acrobatic dance form popularized in the early 1980's, has seen a recent resurgence across the country. Popping, a sometimes fluid, sometimes robotic, isolation-based dance form, provides the foundation for many of today's most recognizable dancers. No experience necessary. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes.

Contra Dance for All

Join us in traditional American social dance using easy walking steps to exciting live music. Come alone or bring friends, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month! You dance with a partner and the other couples in your line, changing partners after each dance. A caller explains each round in a 'walk-through' and then prompts you during the dance, making it especially accessible to beginners. Light refreshments.

International Folk Dancing for Everyone

Come dance to the world music you listen to. Learn the dances that inspired that great music! Lots of teaching! Beginners are very welcome! We dance in lines, with a partner, and in circles with a few people (these circles can really move). No partner needed and absolutely no experience necessary. Come by yourself or bring friends! This will continue as a regular series of dances on Sunday nights, so you can keep coming once you get hooked! Special events this IAP will include a swing workshop, a waltz workshop and Beginner's Nights. International Folk Dancing is also providing an IAP PE credit course.
