A seminar for South Asians of the Indian subcontinent who have lived and grown up in the West. Primarily focusing on issues of women, but men are welcome to participate! We will be exploring issues of identity, behavior, and roles. Our Western background forms our personality and identity, while we try to achieve a balance with our sense of Indian identity, culture, and background. We will ask each participant to talk about her/his individual perceptions . Using various media, we'll present a variety of the most controversial topics having to do with issues for South Asian women. Guest lecturers will also come to talk to the seminar. Be ready to come speak your mind!
The event is co-sponsored by South Asian Center, Women's Studies Department and SAAS.
