Exciting innovations and changes are happening in MIT education. If you would like to learn about them--as well as learn how to improve your own teaching--come join us for the "Better Teaching @ MIT" workshops. We'll talk about incorporating active learning into your classroom, using new
educational technologies, getting feedback from students to strengthen your courses, and other topics. Workshops are open to all members of the MIT community who are interested in educational issues.

Assessment: Using Classroom Research to Improve Teaching
Dr. John Newman
A wealth of information for the improvement of teaching is ordinarily available as a result of normal educational activities. With some relatively simple yet careful crafting, the value of this information can be increased to a degree that permits a variety of uses, up to and including basic research into disciplinary learning. Through participatory exercises, this workshop will explore some of the possibilities and potentials for collecting and interpreting what is there to be found in the classroom.
