This past fall MIT embarked on a series of laptop initiatives to explore different ways laptops might be used in MIT courses. Four different approaches were taken by faculty in teaching in course 1,2,4,and 8. What did the faculty teaching these courses experience? What goals did they have for the use of laptops and were they achieved? How were they used in and out of the class setting? Overall, how did the introduction of this technology affect how they taught, what they taught, and the flow of student-faculty interaction in these courses? Join us for an open discussion of the experiences of faculty teaching with laptops at MIT.
