Did you realize you can find lots of free demo software for your PC? Get an overview of how to find free demo software on your own, and how to download, install, and use it. We'll highlight several apps such as Flash, Paint Shop Pro and MS Visio, focusing on the few critical skills needed to get started. This is a great class for someone who has never delved into downloads and installations and wants to do some exploring. Please note: W89 is on the West side of campus just beyond Simmons Hall. Either take the Tech Shuttle at Vassar and Mass Ave., and get off at Stop 6. It's also really not that far to walk, and all successful arrivals will be rewarded with hot cocoa.

This class will teach you the fundamentals of writing programs in Objective-C using Cocoa, the object-oriented application framework for Apple's MacOS X. You will learn the fundamentals of Objective-C, creating projects with Project Builder, designing interfaces with Interface Builder, debugging, and more. We'll create a bunch of tiny applications that will teach you enough to get going. Bring an OSX laptop so you can play along and work on your own project as well!
