We'll be creating amazing forms from ice in front of Kresge Auditorium by hanging nets and inflating weather balloons. No fixed date; we'll be waiting for a freezing cold night and by dawn we'll have made a scattering of beautiful objects that may only last a day! This is a unique event and we are looking for enthusiastic participants who don't mind getting cold! This will take place some time in the two weeks from Monday, January 13th. If you are interested then please tell us about yourself (year & department) and why you want to take part. Co-sponsored by the Civil & Environmental Engineering and Architecture Departments

Single session event

Come tour the Boston Public Library (BPL) in Copley Square, one of America's architectural treasures. Designed by McKim, Mead and White and completed in 1895, the magnificent Renaissance Revival building marries art with architecture. In addition to mosaics, wall paintings, and murals, you'll see features made of nearly 20 varieties of marble. View the murals by Pierre Puvis de Chauvannes, John Singer Sargent (currently being restored), and John Elliott. Also see the work of Augustus St. Gaudens, Federick MacMonnies, and Daniel Chester French, among others. Meet inside the Dartmouth St. entrance of the Boston Public Library at Copley Square.
