Shotokan Karate is a classic Japanese martial art style. Its fundamental aim is to achieve mental and physical balance through training on breathing, basic techniques ( punches, kicks and blocks) and Katas (forms). It increases body flexibility and strength and relieves stress. At MIT, Karate is taught by Master Kazumi Tabata and by Sensei Dave D'Amore. The IAP class is designed as an introductory class. Beginners are welcome.
