Build an inflatable leading edge power kite for Surfing and Ice-Buttboarding. Use surfcad to design a single skin power kite with inflatable battens (quick lessons in low speed aerodynamics and foil design). Layout pattern in spinnaker nylon, dacron (analytical geometry and complex printer debugging). Do a lot of sewing (scheduling, manufacturing economics, mechatronics …sewing machines). Ultrasonically weld polyurethane inflatable bladders (pneumatics and patience). Tie knots and make a control bar and safety system (knot-theory, higher mathematics, control theory, bondage). Success pending, we will have testing/ training on snow. You may be required to cover material costs.
