Service learning can be an energizing and effective teaching method, but it can also pose some challenges. Join us at this luncheon workshop to discuss the merits of the pedagogy, review best practices, and strategize about difficulties. This workshop is intended for MIT faculty, who are current service learning practitioners, and those, who are curious about what service learning is and how it can improve their teaching, as well as, their students motivation for learning and comprehension of course material. A light lunch will be provided.
