Single session event
Have you ever wanted to either learn more about medieval / renaissance shoemaking? Do you want to make your own medieval type shoes? Well, if the answer to either of those questions is "yes", come join the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) at a lecture on medieval shoemaking. You will have a chance to practice sewing on leather, and will learn about the construction of shoes. Handouts are provided. In addition, the MIT SCA will be taking sign-ups for a low-fee ($5-10) shoemaking workshop to be held late IAP / early February - times and dates to be determined by participant preference.
