Change ringing is the traditional British style of ringing bells. It was was brought over to the States in colonial times (Paul Revere was a bellringer), and has only recently started to regain popularity. We follow mathematical patterns instead of sheet music to ring up to 8 large tower bells (weighing up to a ton each!), with each bell controlled by a single rope. Come listen to us, then try it yourself. Previous musical experience is completely unnecessary.

An introduction to the traditional British way of ringing bells called change ringing. Because of the way the bells are hung in a church tower, we do not ring tunes. Instead, we ring permutations of the bell orders by following mathematical patterns. Come and try on handbells! It's the most fun you'll ever have counting to 8.

Single session event
The Guild of Bellringers has recently acquired a set of handbells for melodic bellringing. For over 25 years, we've done only change-ringing, but we're looking to expand our horizons. This will be an interest meeting where we will hopefully arrange a permanent practice time for the new handbell group.
