Are you a parent looking to find someone to babysit your child? Or are you a student or parent who enjoys working and spending time with young children? Are you interested in babysitting? Then come meet some students and/or other parents at this Babysitting Mixer! There will be plenty of opportunity to network, enjoy food, and find out what babysitting opportunities exist for you. Event will include activities for small children and free finger food, as well as networking with representatives of the Center for Work, Family & Personal Life, Spouses & Partners at MIT, BabyNet, and Technology Children's Center.

The responsibilities of being a student, an officer in an organization, and other obligations can take a toll on the effectiveness of your student group. Through this workshop, you will learn about developing calendars and timelines, delegating responsibilities, and effectively managing large scale programs for your student group.

Have you always wanted to design and build, but have been frustrated by silly requirements and "good engineering practice"? Well, fret no more and come to the EAsT camPUS Bad Ideas competition, where your ideas can really take wing and crash straight to the ground. The weekend will also be packed with numerous smaller events, so come by any time, grab some free food, and join us in a celebration of bad ideas. No skills required, tools and materials provided. Alumni and all members of the MIT community are expressly invited. Email bad-ideas@mit.edu with project ideas, so that we can coordinate supplies, safety, and so forth. This event is funded by the following Dormcon, Weekends@MIT, The MIT Fund and LEF.

This workshop will provide some tips for public speaking as well as explore some of the basic information you should be thinking about before taking the walk out on stage!

In order to be an effective leader you must learn to successfully handle conflict. This workshop will help you to assess your approach to conflict and explore the role that communication plays in conflict. Together we will formulate a clear understanding of communication and conflict on personal, interpersonal, and group levels. In addition, you will gain practical skills for a variety of settings and disputes.
