IAP 2005 Activity


Lifeguard Training (weekday sessions)

No limit but advance sign up required (see contact below)
Participants requested to attend all sessions (non-series)
Prereq: MIT Athletics Card
Fee: 240.00 for Course materials and certification

This ARC course trains lifeguard skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Course content and activities prepare candidates to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drownings and injuries. Upon successful course completion, participants will receive certifications in Lifeguard Training and First Aid valid for three years and CPR for the Professional Rescuer valid for one year. All students must be 15 by course completion date. \\\\*Must pass pretest: Swim 500 yards (200 front crawl, 200 breast stroke, 100 choose front crawl or breast stroke). Swim 25 yards, retrieve brick from 14 feet, swim 25 yards back. No goggles. PE points available upon instructor approval.
