IAP 2005 Activity


Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-B) Class

Participants requested to attend all sessions (non-series)
Prereq: Must fill out application (see URL) and be interviewed
Fee: 200.00 for Covers cost of books and test fees. Subject to change.

An EMT handles issues in pre-hospital emergency medicine, including patient assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, bleeding control, bandaging, splinting, shock management, poison control, and extrication techniques. This class prepares you to take the state EMT Basic test, and canidates who successfully complete this exam and the class will become certified EMT Basics and will be eligible to volunteer and work on MIT's ambulance.
