Argentine tango is the original form of tango that developed in Argentina in the early 20th century. It is characterized by elegant and graceful leg movements, subtlety and particular aesthetic appeal. Classes will focus on proper walking technique, posture, and figures that will enable the participants to enjoy tango dance events (milongas). No partner necessary.

This series of three classes aim to introduce you to the Brazilian dance Samba de Gafieira. Samba de Gafieira is originally from Rio de Janeiro and is the partner version of the world-renowned Brazilian dance, Samba. It is unique in that it can be danced with all the other Samba styles and rhythms, such as Pagode, Bossa Nova, and Chorinho, making it dynamic and playful. It also utilizes steps that are similar in feel to Bolero and Argentine Tango. The classes are suitable for beginners - every week we will review the basic steps and then teach something new.
