Meet the 1926 frat house gang of Phi Beta Epsilon. Revisit the 50s with the Social Beaver. See profiles of Doc Edgerton and Doc Draper, as well as the Academy Award winning short "Quicker than a Wink," featuring Doc Edgerton. Stellar Tools: Online Assessments and Surveys

As a result of its participation in the Sakai Project (an open-source learning environment for higher education), the Stellar team is currently piloting an online assessment and survey tool. We are evaluating it for inclusion in Stellar 2, which is scheduled for release in fall 2006. Join us for an hour-long session where we demonstrate the tool as it currently exists and collect suggestions for improving it. We are also collecting names of those interested in testing it during the spring '06 semester.

Stellar: Rx for Administrative Headaches

Teaching a class is demanding enough; the details of administering the class often present an extra burden. Stellar Course Management System alleviates many of the problems and annoyances of class administration, such as the following:

- Section sign-up
- Collecting homework online
- Archiving and reusing class materials
- Library e-reserves
- Copyright issues
- Class email and access control lists
- Preparing class materials for OpenCourseWare
- Creating the class list

Using Stellar to Search MIT Image Repositories

Stellar Images is a new tool being developed by the Stellar team that lets instructors search for images to use in the classroom. Initially the Stellar community will have access to images from the Rotch Visual Collection and the Visualizing Cultures Image Database. In this session, Ben will demonstrate the tool and gather feedback on how to improve it. Current plans for the tool are to add additional sources for images, as well as functionality for creating slideshows.

Using Stellar's Homework Tool
