Johnson Chung, Rob Gibson
Schedule: TBD
No enrollment limit, no advance sign up
Repeating event. Participants welcome at any session

The MIT Karate Club invites you to join us in learning the traditional Japanese martial art of Shotokan Karate. At this time of year, we especially welcome beginners.

You will be training your mind and body in the basic forms of blocks, punches, and kicks. The forms are then combined into traditional sequences (katas) and, once you have a little more experience, basic sparring exercises. Each practice is a good workout and stress-burner. Bring comfortable workout clothes. We take our practices seriously, but are a friendly and non-competitive group.

We are affiliated with Shotokan Karate of America (SKA), a nonprofit national organization with ties to dojos around the US and internationally. Classes are free and open to all MIT students and MIT affiliates who have sports center access.
