DMSE Graduate Medallion Casting

Come learn how to cast metal objects in the MIT foundry! Starting with a silicone rubber mold, we will form wax patterns, build ceramic shells, and cast beautiful silicon bronze medallions to be given to all graduates of DMSE, a tradition since 2001. If you have ever wondered how solid metal parts are actually made, and would like to learn the art (without all the science) of the casting process, then this class is for you! DMSE graduate and undergraduate students are especially encouraged to participate but anyone interested is more than welcome.
