We welcome you to try the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do. You'll learn to execute powerful hand strikes, blocks, and kicks. Practicing brings many benefits -- self-discipline, physical conditioning, reduced stress, self-knowledge, and respect. P.E. classes are challenging -- each student is encouraged to push him- or herself to their limit, and then strive to move beyond. Classes will focus on callisthenic warm-ups, stretching, basic kicks and hand techniques, and learning the first Tae Kwon Do form (pattern of movements). The final classes will give students the opportunity for safe, controlled sparring with members of The MIT Tae Kwon Do Club.
