House Managers (alumni are invited too) will learn the basics of property management for FSILGs.
Focus will be on the new Safety, Licensing and Inspection (SLI) program, created by the Assoc. of Independent Living Groups (AILG). Day One will feature the SLI and regulatory compliance material. Visits by building and fire inspectors will be made. Day Two will deal with the multiple building systems in a house.
Presenters include MIT Dept. of Facilities, Info. Services & Technology, Environmental, Health & Safety, Real Estate, the FSILG Cooperative, and outside service providers. Facilitators are Peter L. Cooper of MIT's Dept. of Facilities, and Jay Flynn, the new Building Safety. Peter is Director of MIT Utilities and a member of the PBE Alumni Corp.; Jay is a national officer and member of ADP.
