MITnet, the MIT Computer Network has served MIT for more then a decade. This talk will cover the technology of MITnet, a bit of its history as well as how it is evolving into the future. Topics covered will include:
• TCP/IP The “Internet” Protocol • IP Routing, how data is routed around Campus and the Internet • Ethernet and is various manifestations • MITnet Architecture • MITnet Security • Future Directions
