TMRC 60th Anniversary Operating Session
Adam Madlinger
Sat Feb 3, 05-08:00pm, N52-118

No enrollment limit, no advance sign up
Single session event

Join the Tech Model Railroad Club as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary year with the 2nd Annual TMRC Operating Session (at the Club in building N52, right next to the MIT Museum). During operating sessions, we operate trains just as prototype railroads do: freight trains pick up and deliver cars to the various industries on our 40'x40' layout, while passenger trains operate according to a schedule. No experience is necessary; if you've ever wanted to check our layout or be a railroad engineer or conductor for a few hours, then the operating session is the perfect opportunity for you! Please RSVP to Adam Madlinger if you plan to attend so that we can schedule enough trains for everyone to participate.

Everyone is welcome to come see our layout, with over 600 feet of track and a fully computerized control system. Students can join the club and start projects of their own, which can include everything from computer-controlled lighting systems for the layout to the construction of scenery such as scale stone-arch viaducts over raging rivers.
