In this workshop, students should bring slabs of clay, wheel thrown plates, bowls, and pots of any size on which to draw and paint using glazes and wax. Bring at least one leather hard, one dry (greenware), and several bisqued surfaces to the first class.
We will start by discussing a few pictures of the work of early and contemporary potters. A few books featuring motifs will be available to provide inspiration for your designs. Take your doodles seriously, and experiment with both the colors and the wax resist techniques.
