Equipment is provided, but please bring an athletic cup and non-marking shoes if you can.

This event takes place at the Cambridge War Memorial in Harvard Square starting at 7. I'll be leaving from the Kendall Square T stop at 6:30. RSVP so I know to look for you at either the Kendall Square or Harvard Square T stops, and we can walk to the War Memorial together.

Want to learn some self-defense and martial arts over IAP? How about diving into Tae Kwon Do over IAP?

We practice a traditional style of Tae Kwon Do called Chung Do Kwan, emphasizing speed, power, focus, accuracy, and balance. Part of the philosophy of Chung Do Kwan is no-contact sparring, allowing full power and focus without injuries. All members of the MIT Korean Karate Club learn to break wood, and many break cinder blocks, too.

Tae Kwon Do is a great way to work off MIT stress, to stay in shape, to gain self-esteem, and to learn self-defense. We are an informal and fun-loving bunch, and beginners are always welcome, especially those with no martial arts experience.

You will also get the chance to practice your skills on mini-courses set on the MIT campus. You don't need to have a good sense of direction or be in great shape; if you're quick-witted and can learn to use a map and compass to your advantage, then you can learn to orienteer! Please dress for the weather, and bring a compass if you own one. If you are interested in orienteering but can't make the IAP sessions, please let the contact person know.
