Prereq: Must read "The Red Tent" by Anita Diamant by start of class
Level: U 6 units Standard A - F Grading Can be repeated for credit   

Units vary depending on the term's content, number of class meetings, readings and assignments. Maximum credit of 6 units. Consult IAP listings for detailed description and current topics. May be repeated for credit if the topics are different. Students wishing to take this subject as P/D/F should register for 21L.995; contact instructor to determine assignment differences.
This page-to-stage project will give voice to the characters and songs of Anita Diamant's bestselling novel. The class will also explore women in the Bible, the Midrash as literature, and the worlds of men and women in pre-Biblical history and contemporary society. Class will conclude with a stage reading of a script developed during the class. Offered for- and not-for-credit.
