A class for single malt Scotch whisky novices and those looking to enhance their knowledge of this intriguing and complex spirit! In this three-session interactive seminar, local connoisseurs will lead a sampling of a wide array of young and old single malt whiskies from the various regions of Scotland, highlighting the effects of source, distillation, and maturation. Participants will learn how to taste whisky, how to describe their perceptions, and other necessary steps to becoming knowledgeable consumers. Session 1 will cover the basics of whisky; Session 2 will discuss the production process in depth; Session 3 will cover the necessities of becoming a connoisseur.
