This two hour workshop for HR-Partners and DLC managers will cover some of the essential areas of employment law every manager should know. Topics covered may include hiring practices, FLSA and the payment of wages, use of independent contractors, interns and volunteers, discrimination, managing sick and other leaves and disciplining and terminating employees. The goal of this workshop is to ensure that HR-Partners and supervisors have a better understanding of significant laws and MIT policies and how they are applied in the management of their workforce. Offered by employment law specialists in MIT’s Office of the General Counsel, this workshop may be taken in conjunction with the Harassment Prevention in the Workplace offering.
