Ethnic Dance is a mixture of African, Caribbean and Jazz steps. We start with warm ups that are geared toward building muscle strength, balance and being at ease with isolated movements (independent arm, hip, shoulder, etc.. actions). All improve coordination and stimulate the thought process. As we progress, class may include a short choreographed piece (movements strung together), adding emotions to the mix to create a minute, heartwarming story. Classes are open to ages 18 and up. At times the pace can be high energy but there's lots of fun to be had for the young at heart, those ready for a challenge. Please wear comfortable, non restrictive clothes. We dance barefoot but crew socks with the toes and heels cut out is acceptable.

Want to learn a choreographed ballroom dance without having to memorize any choreography? Then round dancing is for you! Round dancing is ballroom dancing with a cuer telling the dancers what figures to dance, so everyone is dancing the same steps at the same time, perfectly choreographed to the music. In this class, we'll learn the basic figures of waltz, and put them together into a couple of choreographed waltzes.

No partner or dance experience required.
