This course is an introduction to proper maintenance for your bicycle.
The course is intended for people who wish to learn how to repair & maintain their bikes. It is not a repair clinic where someone fixes your bike for you and then you leave.
The two day format is basically lecture and instruction on Day One, and on Day Two you will do a "tune-up" on your own bike with supervision.
Topics will include: Day One: - Proper "fit" for your bike - Recommended tools every cyclist should carry - Removing front and rear tires - Fixing a flat - Adjusting brakes - Adjusting shifters & derailleurs - Care for your chain - Riding safely in Cambridge - Theft prevention Day Two: - Tune up your own bike with supervision.
Attendees are expected to bring their own bike and the recommended tools. A list of recommended tools will be sent to registered attendees on Dec 21, in advance of the holidays.
Some specialty tools will be available.
