An introduction to the American Jiu-Jitsu System of Self-Defense. American Jiu Jitsu consists of Japanese-style Jujutsu, Filipino Stick Fighting, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai and American Kickboxing, as well as Military and Police defensive tactics. The MIT American Jiu Jitsu Club practices practical self-defense, with an emphasis on building well-rounded, strong, intelligent martial artists.
This course is for beginners, and is intended for individuals serious about developing long-term self-defense skills, and who are willing to challenge themselves in a fun, friendly environment. Students are encouraged to continue their study, in order to attain rank with the American Jiu Jitsu Federation, during the Spring semester.
