Ethnic Dance is a mixture of African, Caribbean and Jazz steps. We start with warm ups that are geared toward building muscle strength, balance and being at ease with isolated movements (independent arm, hip, shoulder, etc.. actions). All improve coordination and stimulate the thought process. As we progress, class may include a short choreographed piece (movements strung together), adding emotions to the mix to create a minute, heartwarming story. Classes are open to ages 18 and up. At times the pace can be high energy but there's lots of fun to be had for the young at heart, those ready for a challenge. Please wear comfortable, non restrictive clothes. We dance barefoot but crew socks with the toes and heels cut out is acceptable.
