Inventions are now bought and sold worldwide as businesses, institutes, agencies, and inventors seek to monetize their intellectual property,frequently through the sale or litigation of patents. This seminar will provide a brief overview of technology intellectual property - the concepts of copyright, trade secret, and patents - and then review the patent marketplace from several perspectives, discussing high-tech / IT patent strategy along with several patent valuation approaches including key economic and legal factors.
