Find out how about the recent changes to this award!

This prize – amounting to a base of $25,000, with add-ons as appropriate for the project and/or location – will be awarded to a recent graduate in any department at MIT on the basis of a competitive evaluation of proposals by the CLW Selection Committee.  Applicants may propose a new project that will occupy most of an academic year to develop, or a continuation and expansion of work already initiated during undergraduate study.  Part of the purpose of granting this Award is to offer time to gain experience in an area of your interest, with a view to focusing later on graduate work or employment.

The International Coordinating Committee (ICC) is sponsoring an information session on cross-cultural communications.  MIT has an increasing number of international activities which entail collaborating with people abroad.  Additionally, our own campus community is international and diverse.  This information session will be helpful to everyone working in our global and multi-cultural environment.

We are fortunate to have a few experts among us who have offered to provide some background and help raise awareness on this topic.  Bhaskar Pant, Executive Director of Professional Education and Bernd Widdig, Director of International Affairs, will be presenting on this very important and interesting subject.  April Julich Perez from MISTI will also introduce some related resources available to the general MIT community.

From its earliest founding as a Land-Grant institution right through today, MIT has been connected to agriculture. Many in the community travel near and far to apply what they learn in rural settings and learn more while doing so. Come hear the makers of our newest database, CAB Abstracts, describe what this resource brings to campus and their ongoing work all over the world. We’ll map out MIT ag-related projects and plan a future Spring 2015 mixer for the groups and clubs on campus that tie into these important fields.
