Description: Students will learn how to repair a bicycle from the basics of fixing a flat to more advanced topics such as wheel truing and crank removal. The instructors will be professional mechanics from local bike shops.
Dates/Times: January 9th, 10th and 11th from 1-4pm.
Location: All lessons will take place in the International Design Center (3rd floor of N52, 265 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge). Map here. Please follow the posted signs.

Tai Chi Sampler: Chen Style Tai Chi
Chen style, the oldest of the major tai chi styles, features lower stances, with spiraling, energetic movements, of both slow and quick tempos. This class plays with the Chen 36 form as taught by Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Health Institute.

This sampler plays with three of the most popular styles of tai chi. Each class explores their unique features with the first class of the series demonstrating how tai chi can be modified to meet the needs of various levels of ability.
SAMPLER SESSIONS:

This class plays with evidence-based combinations--modifications to Sun style with qigong exercises from Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Health series. Whether through bad habits, negative thought patterns, or counterproductive behaviors, we all have a 'shadow' that sabotages us at times.
This unique experiential course will teach key concepts and skills for exploring our shadows through analyzing emotions and addressing the impact of formative experiences on our operating beliefs and behaviors. We will gain a higher level of self-awareness and begin the process of troubleshooting deep-seated obstacles to success and happiness.

We welcome you to join us for one or more of four 15-minute talks focused on the four paths of Yoga: Karma, Jnana, Raja, and Bhakti, profiling great Yogis who have lived each of these paths: Gandhi, Ramana Maharshi, Vivekananda and Ramakrishna.
The talk will be followed with Q&A and discussion; and a one-hour Hatha (physical) Yoga session gauged to meet the needs of the group. You are welcome to attend the talk only or the talk and the Hatha Yoga session.
If you plan to participate in the physical practice please wear flexible clothing and bring a Yoga mat if you have one (we have a few extra).
