Chen Style Tai Chi

Tai Chi Sampler:  Chen Style Tai Chi

Chen style, the oldest of the major tai chi styles, features lower stances, with spiraling, energetic movements, of both slow and quick tempos. This class plays with the Chen 36 form as taught by Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Health Institute.

This sampler plays with three of the most popular styles of tai chi.  Each class explores their unique features with the first class of the series demonstrating how tai chi can be modified to meet the needs of various levels of ability.

Modified Tai-Chi for Health

Tai Chi Sampler: Modified Tai Chi for Health

Enjoy safe, relaxing, and easy-to-learn tai chi designed to be gentle on the body. This class plays with evidence-based combinations--modifications to Sun style with qigong exercises from Dr. Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Health series. This 12-movement set can be done sitting or standing and has been acknowledged by the Arthritis Foundation and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Sun Style Tai Chi

Tai Chi Sampler: Sun Style Tai Chi 

Sun style, the youngest of the major tai chi styles, features higher stances and smooth, flowing movements.  This class plays with the Sun 73 competition form, with smaller steps to support an upward posture through coordinated internal energy.
