Rape Aggression Defense Training (14 hour version)

This 14-hour course provides basic information on personal safety, awareness, risk reduction and avoidance. RAD teaches practical defensive techniques that require no special skills. This is employed as women learn to be more aware of their surroundings. RAD also offers the opportunity to test these learned skills on a real person during a simulated attack. Class fee to cover materials, is $20, payable to MIT within THREE DAYS of registration. Resgistrants who cancel less than 48 business hours prior to class will not be eligible for a refund. Attendance is limited to the first 16 women with a payment. PE credits are available for students.

Shakti to Abla: History of Women in India

This course will explore why and how the conditions of Indian women have come into being and what prospects these developments indicate for future. Although they have been subjected to many injustices and abuse, the women of India have been at the head of all movements for social change. Whether it was the Bhakti movement, Ghadar movement, independence movement or the Uttarakhand struggle, women have trail-blazed these paths.
