Morris dancing is an ancient English tradition of festive ritual dance, distinctive in its use of sticks, hankies, and bells. Most of the dances are performed in sets of 4, 6, or 8 dancers by a "team", and each team has a distinctive repertoire and costume. Boston is exceptional in having over a dozen Morris teams (men's, women's, and mixed). This year, MOTley Morris, Boston's finest (and only) Border team, will be teaching Border Morris stick dances. (Border Morris is a fun, easy, stick-based tradition.) Live music.
