This course will explore why and how the conditions of Indian women have come into being and what prospects these developments indicate for future. Although they have been subjected to many injustices and abuse, the women of India have been at the head of all movements for social change. Whether it was the Bhakti movement, Ghadar movement, independence movement or the Uttarakhand struggle, women have trail-blazed these paths.
