My name is Lisa Schlecht and I am a second year graduate student pursuing a dual S.M in Mechanical Engineering and Technology & Policy at MIT. I am currently studying under Professor Maria Yang as part of the MIT Ideation Lab, investigating the impact of resource environments on prototyping and design decisions and how design strategies, tools, and policies could improve innovation in resource-constrained settings.

I have conducted a number of field studies at engineering schools in Mexico. I enjoy looking at problems from a systems perspective, examining all angles from the detailed technical design to business decisions and the political context.
