The International Development Fair
Friday, October 2
1:00-3:00pm in Lobby 13
MIT's Annual International Development Fair (IDF) is an event designed to showcase the many groups, projects and activities at MIT that provide students with an opportunity to work on issues related to international development. The Fair brings students and organizations together, to promote awareness and encourage the exchange of ideas. The 7th Annual International Development Fair will be held on October 3rd from 11 am – 1 pm in Lobby 13.

The Fair is traditionally held each year in late September or early October and provides incoming and continuing MIT students the opportunity to learn about ways that they can become engaged in international development through student groups, non-profit organizations, or academic course offerings in and around MIT campus. Groups and organizations of all types set up booths to display their development projects and enlist the interested students who pass through the fair grounds.
The annual Fair is organized by the MIT International Development Network (IDN) (available here), a community network developed to promote and share information about activities, programs, events and formal academic offerings related to International Development.
Here, you will be able to register for the IDF and its associated dinner. Also, you can submit project information to our International Development Week showcase event. To learn more about the IDN, use any of the links at left.

International Development Night @ MIT
Friday, April 3
5:30-7:30pm

ID Night @ MIT was a huge success with 20+ participants and over 500 attendees. This event was in conjunction with the International Development Conference at Harvard.

"Ever since last year's event, I had been looking forward to this year's International Development Night. I think that this event provides a unique opportunity for students because you have to present your project to a wide-range of audiences: MIT/Harvard Professors who may be really knowledgeable on the subject and may ask really technical questions; students who not only want to learn about your project, but also would like information on how to get involved in the international development community at MIT; and non-experts who may have no background on your project, but may be potential donors/or supporters! My organization, Community Water Solutions, is somewhat complicated because we have a unique water treatment process and a different, entrepreneurial outlook on water treatment. It used to be really hard for me to quickly explain both the technical, water treatment side and the business-side of CWS, but events like International Development Night have really helped me perfect my pitch. I have received compliments from experts and non-experts on my 30-second pitch! Thanks so much for all of the work that you and your colleagues have done to put this event together!"
