How and in what ways can art, design, and technological practice be employed to critically foster acts and activities of "fearless speech?" Taking the discussion of the parrhesia in Michel Foucault's Fearless Speech, the "agonistic model of democracy" described in Chantal Mouffe's The Democratic Paradox, and the First Amendment of the United States Constitution as points of entry into this discourse, start to think of 3 design concepts as possible responses to these texts. Bring your initial thoughts and images for the next class and be prepared to discuss the main theoretical concepts found in the readings.
