Are you eager to apply your MIT knowledge to assist international neighbors? Are you interested in developing skills that will prepare you for global leadership? If you answered yes to any of these questions, MIT’s newest community, International House for Global Leadership (iHouse), is the place for you.
The world we live in has become a global village. Recognizing the need for a college experience that prepares students to function effectively, anywhere in the world, MIT is proud to unveil iHouse. iHouse, the Institute’s newest living-learning community, is “home” to students committed to service, international development, and global leadership. We live, laugh, learn, and value the different ways of life and opinions represented in our multicultural environment. iHouse strives to stimulate and cultivate discussion about technology, policy, and service in the context of making a difference in international development. With the support of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, the MIT Public Service Center, and international scholars, the members of iHouse plan, coordinate, and participate in hands-on experiences designed to positively impact international development.
Now don’t get us wrong, iHouse is not all work. It is a fun and comfortable space within which you and your new MIT family can not only develop creative solutions to problems on an international scale, but also relax, hang out, and play video games. We think globally, but live locally. Our culture is richer, our food is spicier, and our music is livelier.
